The BIG Bite Club BBQ 2017

After the success of last year’s BBQ, we are back at Funkhaus Berlin for a special open air smoke-out on Sunday, July 30th. Guest grill masters will be showcasing international barbecue styles – a real recipe for sticky fingers – plus delicious veggie and vegan options.

So pack your picnic blankets and head to this smoky pop-up Bite Club directly on the river in the historic former headquarters of GDR radio. To celebrate the day we’ve invited our pals from Kleine Reise Records to bring us full swing into summer with their open DJ set. 

BBQ STATIONS
* Bahadur Tandoori BBQ *
Our favorite tandoor master’s will be firing up their clay oven to bring us the utter delight of authentic North Indian flavors: juicy chicken, marinated in Kashmiri chili, yoghurt and spices along with aromatic paneer and onion skewers.

* Cicciabar *
Berlin’s premier purveyor of award-winning Tuscan meat specialties will be treating us to all the succulent goodness of their Chianina beef and spit-roasted porchetta. 

* Khwan *
Aiming to show off Thailand’s lesser known dishes, and passionate about all things Isaan, the North East region. Think GaiYang chicken wings, caramilized grilled pork, green papaya salad and grilled corn. 

* Persian BBQ by rocket & basil *
Das Brunch’s very own Sophie and Xenia will be taking to the grills and treating us to delicious Iranian chicken, marinated in yoghurt, saffron, and lime as well as BBQ romano peppers, stuffed with haloumi and spiced with saffron and lime.

* Pic Nic 34 *
Gianni will be grilling Arrosticini – a classic mutton skewer street food from Abruzzo – and fresh-grilled piadine filled with Sicilian cream cheese, pesto and Italian sausage.

* Spice Spice Baby *
A taste of the tropics, this sweet and spicy Jamaican Jerk chicken is marinated and slow smoked over thyme strewn coals. Think citrus, rum, cinammon & chilli and you’re almost there on the beach! Served with coconut rice & beans, fried plantain and a Jamaican rum infused gravy.

STREET FOOD 
* Dewar’s Scotch Egg Club *
Chef Fabio Haebel has taken it upon himself to introduce that most venerated of British pub snacks to the canon of Berlin’s street food favorites. He’ll be serving three varieties (Classic, Lamb & Veggie), each paired with a shot of Dewar’s scotch whisky. 

* Fryheads *
Serving up their double-fried fries with fruity curry sauce and homemade sour cream with caramelised spring onions.

* Future Breakfast *
This healthy and tasty little wagon will be offering delicious treats including eggs Benedict and sour-dough open sandwiches topped with super food goodness. 

* Glut und Späne *
Berlin’s premier smoke house uses only regional wood and herbs to fuel their fires, serving up a variety of perfectly smoked fish, cheese and vegetables. 

* Jones Ice Cream *
The little mint green Citroen truck is back, serving buttery cookies and ice creams like mojito, raspberry yoghurt & meringue puffs, chai latte and dark chocolate.

* Tatas *
Freshly made waffle cones with a variety of fillings

Homemade fresh ice lollies in a variety of delicously fruity flavours. Def not just for kids.

* BREWBOX *
Berlin’s premier Nitro Coffee makers serve their seriously addictive cold and hot caffeinated creations.

Deliciously healthy, fresh and seasonal cold-pressed juices and handmade sweets.

* Kleine Reise * 
Flowering from the roots of the beloved club Kleine Reise, this Berlin vynil and digital project has thrown off the shackles of any one style of genre, turning out tunes as a soulful journey through the sonic universe.
